Introduction

The Institut Koperasi Malaysia (IKMa) first began its operations in Sabah in June 1997. Its initial operational office was located on the 3rd Floor of the MCIS Building, SEDCO Complex, Jalan Albert Kwok, Kota Kinabalu.

In July 2001, IKMa Zon Sabah relocated to a new office situated on the 5th Floor of Menara MAA, Lorong 6 Api-Api 1, Kota Kinabalu. This relocation aimed to offer more comfortable and conducive facilities for conducting training and education programs for cooperative members throughout Sabah.

To further expand IKMa's reach as a cooperative training and education center in Sabah, the IKMa Tawau Branch was opened on January 1, 2023. The IKMa Tawau Branch operates from T2@Apas, Lot A17.A & Lot 18.4, 4th Floor, Block A, Jalan Apas, Tawau, Sabah.

This Tawau branch serves as a training hub for cooperative members in the East Coast region of Sabah, specifically covering the areas of Tawau, Lahad Datu, and Sandakan.

Functions

  • Providing and conducting cooperative study programmes
  • Publishing and disseminating books on cooperatives and related topics.
  • Conduct researches and providing consultancy services to cooperatives.

Training Program

The establishment of the Sabah Zone is a positive move to further develop the role of the CIM as a leading cooperative training institution in Malaysia.
